Last year, Etsy launched Maker Cities, a program designed to connect Etsy sellers with city leaders committed to your success. Throughout the pilot, we learned there’s a deep need–and a lot of enthusiasm–for this work.
Today, we’re excited to announce that the Maker Cities program is evolving to provide grants to nonprofit organizations and accredited education institutions around the world that are committed to empowering businesses like yours.
If you’re passionate about supporting local economies, we encourage you to work with a nonprofit or accredited education institution in your area to apply for a Maker Cities grant. Tell us how you and your partner would invest in creative economic development in your city for a chance to receive a grant for your project or research. For funding purposes, applications must be submitted by a nonprofit or education institution, but one or more Etsy sellers must be involved for the application and project to be eligible.
The deadline to apply is May 26, and we’ll notify grant recipients in June. Check out the Seller Handbook article for more information. If you have any questions or need help identifying potential proposal partners, please contact us at email@example.com.
We’re incredibly excited about this new chapter for Maker Cities and the opportunity to support local communities around the world.
